Digital Imaging I – Weekly Posting 14 – Urban Zen: A Philosophy of Living By Donna Karan

I’m looking forward to finishing up my motion graphic 30 second commercial. This project was a challenge and it made me get out of my comfort zone as well as creating a different style of my theme for this year in my digital imaging class. My theme in this class was based on sustainability within health and wellness. Sustainability is the endurance of systems and processes. The organizing principle for sustainability is sustainable development, which includes the four interconnected domains: ecology, economics, politics and culture. I wanted to create earth tone colors instead of using the chakra color scheme for my collage project. The 30 second commercial is going to be based off of Donna Karan’s Urban Zen Foundation and clothing and accessories. Urban Zen is a philosophy of living by Donna Karan, touched and inspired by cultures and artisans from around the world. We give back by supporting the Urban Zen Foundation, which has a mission to raise awareness and inspire change in the areas of Preservation of Cultures, Well-Being and Education. Donna Karan is one of my favorite designers and I’m in love with her philosophy. Here are some of her quotes below:

“I HAVE SPENT DECADES DRESSING PEOPLE.
NOW I WANT TO ADDRESS THEM.”
